SpotHero has been paving the way for millions of drivers to easily find affordable parking at more than 8,000 garages, lots and valets in over 300 major North American cities.
Challenge
Simplify the user experience to make finding and reserving parking through SpotHero more intuitive and seamless, thereby enhancing overall usability and convenience for drivers across North America.
User and Business Goals
The redesign aims to let users quickly find and reserve parking spots with clear instructions and smooth payment options, offering a hassle-free experience. For the business, the goals are to enhance app engagement and retention, increase reservations, and strengthen the SpotHero brand by providing a reliable and efficient parking solution.
Research
Usability testing and user feedback identified pain points in the app's design. We analyzed competitive apps for best practices and reviewed analytics to understand user behavior and obstacles in the reservation process, informing our redesign strategy.
Solution
The interface was redesigned for easier navigation and clarity, allowing users to find and reserve parking with minimal effort. We streamlined the search and booking flow, reduced the steps for reservation, and enhanced the payment process to include fast guest checkout and multiple options like Apple Pay. Improved visual cues and clear instructions on parking passes ensure users can easily follow directions upon arrival.
Impact
The solution involved redesigning the interface for easier navigation and clarity, making it simpler for users to find and reserve parking spots. We created a more intuitive flow for searching, comparing, and booking parking, reducing the number of steps required. Enhancements to the payment process included fast guest checkout and options like Google Pay, making transactions quicker.
